Despres was killed in an
avalanche at Yankee Doodle Lake November 28, 2001 (CAIC accident report).
To encourage avalanche hazard awareness, RMRG offers dryland avalanche transceiver trainings annually in early
December. No matter how novice or advanced you are, practicing is a must to maintain
proficiency.

Ranger Cottage in Boulder. Sessions are typically about two hours long.

Participants can use their own transceivers
or RMRG will loan students a free transceiver for the training session
with a deposit of a driver's license. You do need your own warm clothes
and headlamp.
