Mount Sanitas Medical Evacuation of Hiker

"Scree" evacuation of a hiker who requested medical assistance from the Mt. Sanitas South Ridge trail in the City of Boulder Open Space and Mountain Parks and Open Space, September 2, 2007. The evacuation route dropped directly down the clear terrain on the east side of Mount Sanitas, allowing a safe, efficient operation. Why we didn't go down the trail is discussed in our scree evacuation explanation. RMRG responds to requests to assist persons in distress in City of Boulder Open Space and Mountain Parks and Open Space about 40 times annually.
